Vivian VanPeenen

Vivian VanPeenen has lived in Tucson since 1995, having moved here for her long-standing career as the Curator of Education with Reid Park Zoo. Her role at the Zoo was diverse – from managing a large education and public interaction staff to conducting program evaluation and audience research. Vivian and her team oversaw conservation programs, special events, media relations, and communications – all while grant writing to fund ongoing departmental growth.

Since retiring from the Zoo, Vivian has focused on management her rental property business. She assists with communication for the Local GEICO office, owned and managed by her husband Charles. Additionally she continues to serve her community through volunteer efforts. In addition to grant writing for Ballet Tucson, Vivian has most recently been volunteering to help settle refugees in Tucson, through Refugee Focus.

When not working or volunteering, Vivian enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with her family.
