Kendra Clyde is a passionate artist and has worked hard to build her dance career. She grew up in Tucson, Arizona where she spent most of her years of dancing and performing. She has been trained in various dance styles including Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Tap, Ballet, and Contemporary Ballet.  Kendra attended several summer intensives as a youth which included: Ballet Arts, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Joffrey, and Ballet Austin. She continued her dance education at Ballet Arts under the direction of Mary Beth Cabana and Chieko Imada.  Kendra has danced with Ballet Tucson II and performed roles such as Clara from The Nutcracker, Paquita, Odette from Swan Lake, Odile from Swan Lake, and various other repertoire included in Ballet Tucson II. Kendra became a Trainee with Ballet Tucson at 16 and joined as an Apprentice at the age of 18.

Kendra has had the opportunity to dance roles with Ballet Tucson such as the Satyr solo from an original ballet called Gemini (choreographed by Daniel Precup), partnering and solo in Bolero, the Soldier Doll and Columbine Doll from The Nutcracker along with various works by Margaret Mullin, Chieko Imada and Mary Beth Cabana. Kendra is a very strong contemporary dancer, and she had the opportunity to perform Kiyon Ross’ No Holds Barre’d in Ballet Tucson’s reINVIGORATE performance. Kendra’s final performance as a professional was George Balanchine’s Corps de ballet Walpurgisnacht.

Kendra continued her dance education at Utah Valley University and earned an Associates Degree in Dance. This ballet dancer also moves like a strong modern/contemporary dancer. Not only has Kendra enjoyed her years performing, but she is also an excellent teacher who is committed to sharing her wisdom and the love of dance with her students. She teaches with the School of Ballet Tucson, where she has choreographed many dances. Kendra loves choreographing, and has choreographed for Ballet Tucson’s Footprints at the Fox Concert, as well the Swan Lake section in the musical Anastasia for Arts Express Theatre. Her motto is to “...be different in order to make a difference in the world” (Neal A. Maxwell).
