School Directors & Staff

Sarah Wilkerson started dancing in her hometown of Kansas City, Kansas at the age of three. Primarily focusing on jazz, lyrical, and contemporary styles of dance. At the age of twelve she decided to shift her focus towards ballet and began her formal training at Kansas School of Classical Ballet under the direction of Juan Pablo Trujilo and Stefani Schrimpf. Here she grew her technique not only in classical ballet but also in various styles of modern dance. She also trained with BalletMet, in Columbus, Ohio, and Oregon Ballet Theater, in Portland, Oregon.

Wilkerson joined Ballet Tucson in 2019 and began teaching for the school in 2021. She has experience teaching ballet, hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, musical theater, and lyrical. Along with teaching she has choreographed musical theater and jazz dances for the school for both the end of year showcase as well as the summer workshop.
