From the Artistic Director
Ballet Tucson is reaching new heights through our performances, cultural partnerships and school. Great cities of the world possess a thriving symphony, opera, theater and ballet. We are proud to be your ballet company, one of the four pillars of our arts community.
Our 2023-2024 Season features five incredible performances with highlights including two iconic works by legendary choreographer George Balanchine and Tucson’s favorite holiday tradition, our celebrated production of The Nutcracker in partnership with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra! We continue to expand our repertoire with dynamic new works like Associate Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer Chieko Imada’s world premiere of Eternal Love (in partnership with the Tucson Desert Song Festival) and After the Rain Pas de Deux by Christopher Wheeldon, the Tony Award-winning choreographer of An American in Paris and MJ: The Musical.
The future of Tucson’s only professional ballet company has never been brighter and this would not be possible without passionate supporters like you. We dedicate our 2023- 2024 Season in memory of one of our greatest champions, Nancy Causbie. Nancy was instrumental in founding Ballet Tucson 37 years ago. She was a tireless advocate for our organization and her commitment to bringing great ballet to Tucson was unwavering. We honor her legacy this season and beyond, sharing her dream with you.
Thank you!
