Alexis Collins began her training at three years old with Roswell Dance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. During her time dancing in Georgia, Collins trained with Roswell Dance Theatre’s Ballet, Jazz, and Pre-Professional companies  In 2010, Alexis received a full scholarship from the US State Department NSLI-Y program to train with the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet, where she lived and trained for 2 months in the iconic Moscow academy, refining her technique and learning the Russian language and culture. In addition, she had the opportunity to attend summer programs with the Harid Conservatory, Joffrey Ballet, and Kansas City Ballet.

After graduating from high school in 2012, Alexis moved to Richmond, VA to dance with Richmond Ballet as a trainee and attend Virginia Commonwealth University on scholarship. In Richmond, she was chosen to perform with the main company in ballets such as George Balanchine’s Serenade, Malcolm Burn’s Cinderella, Swan Lake, and the Nutcracker. Alexis joined Ballet Tucson in 2014 as an apprentice and has been honored to dance as a company member since 2016. She has danced in works by Chieko Imada, George Balanchine, Kiyon Ross, Daniel Precup, Mark Schneider, and Kim Robards. During her time in Tucson, she has graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona with a BA in Philosophy and Ethics and a minor in History. She loves to spend her time outside of the studio volunteering for local animal organizations such as the Humane Society of Southern Arizona and the Tucson Wildlife Center.
