Skylar Burson is a Long Beach native who began his training at Lauridsen Ballet Centre in Torrance, California under the guidance of Diane Lauridsen. Post graduation, Skylar joined Jacqueline College’s Utah Metropolitan Ballet where he danced many of the classics alongside new works by Alan Hineline and Heather Gray. He later ventured back home to California for a Ballet Master position with Lauridsen Ballet Centre.
While continuing his training and networking as a guest artist, he was commissioned to participate in one of Garrett Ammon’s new works for Wonderbound in Denver, Colorado. Additionally, Skylar had the opportunity to dance the title role in Graham Lustig’s The Nutcracker with the Oakland Ballet Company. Skyler joined Ballet Tucson in 2020.
We asked Skylar: What piece or concert are you most looking forward to in the 2022-2023 season and why?
“Every production allows for an opportunity to discover who I am as an artist while doing what I love with like-minded individuals. I am looking forward to every concert in Ballet Tucson's upcoming 22/23 season.”
